Ryan Anderson infuses his watercolors with a unique artistic style and his love of the outdoors (particularly water) to breathe new life into his paintings. Ryan can probably trace his love of water, and the grandiose sunsets he often depicts, back to his childhood growing up on Washington Island, a small island community located at the tip Wisconsin's beautiful Door County peninsula. Surrounded by the vast and wonderful Lake Michigan, Washington Island provided breathtaking scenery year round. Although, he has moved away from the island, he often returns with his family to visit and recharge the inspiration batteries.
Ryan now lives in Oshkosh, WI with his wife Julie and their dog Jessie. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a degree in Art Education and has a masters degree in Technology in Education from Marian College. He currently teaches art classes in the Neenah Joint School District where he helps spread his appreciation of the arts to his students.
